MRCLP Planning Guides (PDF)

The MRCLP Planning Guides are for libraries who have been awarded Maine Reads Community Literacy Project planning grants.

Planning Grant Final Report (Word)

The Final Report is for libraries who have been awarded Maine Reads Community Literacy Project planning grants.

Literacy Project Implementation Grant Final Report (Word)

The above final report should be filed within 90 days of completing the project. We prefer final reports be submitted electronically by copying the form and emailing it to us at info@mainereads.org. Our goal is to post these reports on our website.

Libraries are not required to re-apply for planning grants annually, but every three years, instead, to be eligible for future implementation grant funding.

Implementation grant requests should respond to a community need discovered through the planning grant process, however. You may apply for implementation grants annually, although we caution that recipients should not necessarily anticipate funding of consecutive year grants.

We would very much appreciate hearing in advance about any programs you present through Maine Reads funding as we may be able to provide additional publicity. Please feel free to add us to the press list for the project. We are also interested in receiving copies of publicity the project receives and we encourage you to work with your local cable stations for coverage of events — usually it’s free! Photos of your project are also of interest. When promoting your project, please acknowledge that it was made possible or made possible in part by Maine Reads.
